How to Remove Spectacles Permanently after an Operation?

Remove Spectacles Permanently

Wearing spectacles or lenses can be bothersome when you must carry them daily, and they get easily dirty. So, is there a way to permanently get rid of them? Of course, I say. All thanks to the advancement of technology, there is a solution for everything. Recently, numerous surgeries have been developed that permanently correct your eyesight. Make sure to read all the way through the article because we will be examining these solutions.

LASIK Eye Surgery

One of the best solutions for your issue is Lasik, also known as laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis. Your cornea is corrected during this surgery using a laser or a blade, depending on what you are paying for. Myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism can be surgically corrected in adults over the age of 16 if specific requirements are met.

One of the main conditions is that you have a specific thickness of your eyes below which you cannot have surgery. You don’t have to live with glasses if you get them from a reputable surgeon who follows the proper procedures. After a thorough, complete eye exam, you can always get that done if you need to have it done twice or more.

The risks associated with this procedure are extremely low, and the side effects typically last no longer than a day or two (occasionally even a week). If you need an immediate result, you are advised to go for it. The price of the procedure will vary depending on whether you want traditional or bladeless LASIK. Because Femtosecond LASIK uses no blades, as the name implies, it is the most highly recommended form of LASIK surgery. It typically falls within the range of 20,000 and 100,000 Indian rupees.

ICL Surgery

The ICL procedure, also known as implantable Collamer lens surgery, is another well-liked procedure that can improve your vision. It differs significantly from LASIK. This procedure involves the permanent implantation of an artificial lens for vision correction. Additionally, it can treat astigmatism, nearsightedness, and farsightedness, the three different types of vision issues. Only you are recommended for this surgery if you suffer from severe vision issues.

Depending on the type of lens you get implanted, there are primarily two types of ICL surgery: ICL Soft Lens and Intraocular Lens. A polymeric material that is easily bendable and does not require stitches makes up the lens during soft lens surgery. It is less likely to cause your body to react in any way.

Patients who cannot have LASIK are typically the only ones who need intraocular lens surgery. In order to improve eye focus, stitches are implanted into the lens between the cornea and the iris in this procedure. It typically ranged from 80,000 to 1,25,000 Indian rupees per eye.

SMILE Eye Surgery

SMILE – Small Incision Lenticule Extraction works similarly to LASIK, which reshapes your cornea to give you perfect vision. The procedure is entirely blade-free and is a better alternative to LASIK. Four different kinds of vision issues are addressed by using it. It can treat presbyopia in addition to myopia, hypermetropia, and astigmatism.

It was only recently approved in 2016 and is the most recent surgery. According to a survey, 7 out of every eight patients who receive this surgery experience 20/20 vision.

You must undergo a thorough examination to ensure you don’t have any eye disorders before surgery because if you have surgery in addition to your eye disorder, things could become complicated. The surgery only lasts 20 minutes and is computer-guided. It recovers faster than other surgeries and is highly recommended if you lead an active lifestyle. It is more expensive than LASIK but also more cost-effective.

PRK Eye Surgery

PRK (Photorefractive keratectomy) is yet another type of refractive surgery. This surgery, like LASIK, uses a laser to correct your vision by reshaping the cornea. It primarily enhances the ability of the eyes to focus.

Before the surgery, you must ensure that you meet certain conditions, including having healthy eyes. It is an outpatient procedure that takes about 5 to 10 minutes for both eyes.

It works similarly to LASIK but differs in many ways. If you have dry eyes, thin corneas, or lead an active lifestyle, PRK eye surgery is recommended over LASIK. In contrast to the latter, PRK uses an ultraviolet laser on the surface of the eyes. It takes a little longer to recover than the other surgeries, but the long-term results are better. The success rate of this surgery is 90%. It typically costs between 35,000 and 40,000 Indian rupees.

RLE Eye Surgery

RLE – Refractive Lens Exchange – is your best option when you are ineligible for the other surgeries mentioned above. It involves removing the eye’s natural lens and replacing it with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL), similar to cataract surgery. Only those who wear bifocals or multifocal and are well over 45 years old are qualified for this surgery. In addition to the other three types of vision issues, it can also treat presbyopia.

Both of your eyes are treated with a gap in between. The process takes each eye about 15 minutes, but you might need to stay for 2 hours to observe. Although it heals quickly, complications or side effects are more likely than in other surgeries. It is, therefore, only advised if you have severe vision issues that other surgeries are unable to treat.

About 75,000 to 90,000 Indian Rupees are spent on the surgery overall, including preoperative consultation and postoperative care.

Conclusion

As we have seen, there are many options on the market if you want to improve your vision permanently. Even though there are some risks associated with them, if you have a successful surgery, it might be a wise choice. Make sure to have a thorough consultation before the procedure.
