Goechala Trek:

As Goechala Trek is not so difficult, many peoples prefer to visit there. Peoples experience moderate terrain and also a good height of peak, from where the incredible view wins the hearts of people.

Starting point – Yuksom city

Endpoint – Goechala-Yuksom city

Distance – 92 km (approx)

Goechala trek is best as its daytime temperature is moderate for the trekkers as 10°C to 25°C. And the mountain views that seem very close to you, the beautiful landscapes, its flora and fauna that will definitely touch your heart and will say only one thing- WOW!

As located in Sikkim, in the Himalayas range the best for trekking is in the SPRING (March-June) AND AUTUMN SEASON (September-November).

ITINERARY:

  • Drive to Yuksom

rest in a guest house after the long hour drive as there is no airport there so you have to come by means of public or private transport.

  • Yuksom to Sachen (10 km hike)

The first destination you reached, having the dense forests and spots yaks and mules there and also you see the beautiful Tshushay Khola Waterfalls.

  • Sachen to Tshoka (7 km hike)

Here you enjoy beautiful nature with a waterfall and incredible view.

  • Tshoka to Dzongri (10 km hike)

Starting from climbing trails reaches the phedang which leads to Dzongri.

  • Rest and hike to Dzongri La Pass (4417 m)

Walking up further will find the steep and rocky ascend, and the path leads to snowy mountains and the place of Buddhist worship.

  • Dzongri to Thansing (10 km hike)

Enjoying the beautiful views gives a chilling mood and continuous ascent to the Thansing.

  • Thansing to Goecha La Pass and back (14 km hike)

Reaching the thansing got the only source of water to drink. When you reach the lake then the path gets narrow, and the climbing gets difficult. So, trek back to Thansing.

  • Thansing to Tshoka (16 km hike)

Due to the less presence of oxygen at the peak the trek back off to the starting point and now the downward trek started and is also faster so takes less time to reach Tshoka.

  • Tshoka to Yuksom (17 km hike)

The downward trek will give you relaxation sound and also takes less time to cover the distance and now you are very close to the ending of the trek.

  • Drive back to Siliguri

Here are your 7 days of 92 km trekking ends, and you will feel the freshness of the wonderful days that you spend at the Goechala trek.
